      Simon Barker, Matt McMahon and Phil Slater have been recording and performing as Band of Five Names for over ten years. The band has released four recordings, the most recent being Empty Gardens (2006). The band has recorded music for several award-winning documentaries and has been commissioned to compose and perform music for theatre and radio.

      Led on the double bass by one of Australia’s leading jazz musicians, Jonathan Zwartz, the Jonathan Zwartz Trio will perform their original jazz compositions. Zwartz has played and recorded with many of the most outstanding international and Australian music artists, including Katie Noonan and James Morrison.

She was named Best Jazz Artist at the Musicoz awards (2004), won the prestigious National Jazz Award at Wangaratta and was a semi-finalist in the Montreux Jazz Vocal Competition in Switzerland (2005).

      The vocal talents of Emma Pask were spotted by James Morrison during one of his regular visits to high schools when she was just sixteen. She first sang with his band that night and has been touring with Morrison around Australia and overseas ever since. Her performances are reminiscent of the classic era of jazz, when swing was top of the charts, and tonight she performs with her own band.
