Known for her film, video and photographic works, Tracey Moffatt won critical acclaim for her first solo exhibition in 1989 which featured the series Something more. The following year her short film Night cries won Best Australian Short Film at the Melbourne International Film Festival and was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then she has exhibited prolifically all over the world and is represented in major international collections. Her photographic series Up in the sky, which was shot on location in the Australian outback, tells a dramatic story of mixed-race relationships and violence. It is the inaugural exhibition in the new photography gallery.
