Plein air sketching with Michelle Hiscock
Workshop
-
Sketching from nature has been an important part of artistic training for centuries. Whether you are experienced or a complete beginner, you will find drawing is the ideal way to enjoy and understand the landscape.
This one-day workshop will give you the opportunity to experience the many benefits of working directly from nature. Guided by popular teacher and landscape painter, Michelle Hiscock, you will draw in the beautiful grounds of the Art Gallery of NSW and the Royal Botanic Garden.
Michelle will discuss the practicalities of working in the field, choosing the motif, developing a composition and strategies for working with line, tone and colour. Michelle will also discuss the relative advantages of various media and how to put together the ideal sketching kit to suit your needs.
Please bring your favourite sketching materials and a sketch pad.
