Solar plate etching
Workshop with Serephina Martin
Enjoy a fun and creative weekend with master printmaker Seraphina Martin.
In this hands-on two-day workshop, Seraphina will teach you simple techniques used in solar plate etching. Using UV rays from the sun, solar plate etching is a quick, simple and non-toxic printmaking technique.
You will create an image using drawings, photographs or collage, then photocopy your final composition onto acetate film. This print will be exposed onto a photosensitive photo-polymer plate, ready for printing on the etching press. Viscosity inks on rollers will allow for some exquisite colour variations towards a stunning print portfolio.
All materials supplied, but enquire when booking for other requirements.
