      Workshop, Member

Join us on an outdoor drawing adventure inspired by the modernist landscapes of Roy de Maistre and Roland Wakelin. Enjoy a full day of sketching with the expert guidance of popular Sydney artist Celia Gullett.

This drawing workshop follows the tradition of working directly from nature or 'en plein air’. With particular focus on the use of colour, shape and treatment of space, you’ll learn to simplify, compose and notate form and light in the landscape, and improve your understanding and application of colour. You’ll make observational studies using a monochromatic palette before translating them into full glorious colour on specialty pastel paper using soft chalk pastels.

All materials will be supplied, however, you are welcome to bring your own charcoal and soft pastels if you prefer. A full list of preferred colours will be supplied when booking.

Stools will not be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear, and bring a hat, water and your lunch.
