Benjamin Law is a Brisbane-based writer and a frequent contributor to frankie, The Monthly and Good Weekend. He has written for over 50 Australian and international publications. His debut book The family law (2010) was shortlisted for Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards. Benjamin will talk about his latest book Gaysia: adventures in the Queer East (2012), which investigates expressions of sexuality and love in the East compared to the West.

Rachel Wotton, sex worker

Rachel Wotton is an Australian sex worker. While currently based in Sydney, she regularly travels to many locations around Australia and overseas. Impassioned about freedom of sexual expression and the rights of sex workers, Rachel specialises in a long overlooked clientele – people with disability. She helped establish Touching Base Inc which helps people with disabilities and sex workers to connect. Rachel’s work was recently featured in the documentary Scarlet Road (2011), which was shown on SBS. Rachel will describe her work in providing services to clients with disability.

Sam is Channel Seven’s resident social media expert adding her knowledge and opinions to stories that involve social commentary. She also speaks at conferences about the role social media plays within marketing and communications. Sam will discuss how the language of love has changed with the rise of social media.
