- Further information
'Night of the full moon' was exhibited in Nancy Borlase's first solo exhibition at Macquarie Galleries in 1960 and singled out in the Sydney Morning Herald's review of that exhibition. Painted after her return from America where she had been looking at the 'action painters' of the New York school, it represented a marked change in the direction of her work which she now developed strongly towards abstraction. This work is a companion painting to 'Sun in the city', also in the gallery's collection.
