  • About

Cizhou is one of the classic wares of China. Manufactured at kilns scattered all over the country, Cizhou ceramics were made for everyday use rather than Imperial enjoyment. Cizhou ware is often decorated with one or more coats of slip which is then overpainted, incised or carved. Created during the 13th century, this dish with white slip over-painted with black, has a strong sense of modernity.
