At just over nine metres long, the three-panel painting 'Point to point (Evening blaze line)' 1988-1990 is the largest of several works created by Storrier on the theme of fire.
Whilst pursuing a formal interest in the notion of the horizon line, his dramatic depiction of a suspended rope, ablaze against an immense unpeopled landscape evokes at once a romantic vision of the Australian inland, the powerful symbolism of fire as elemental force and the human quest for meaning through ritual and imagination.
