About
Urushibara Yoshijirō, also known as Urushibara Mokuchu, was a Japanese printmaker. He exhibited his work internationally and, from the age of nineteen, lived for many years in London. He worked restoring Japanese and Chinese prints and scroll paintings at the British Museum and was involved in the revival of colour woodblock printmaking in Europe in the 1920s and 30s. Urushibara often collaborated with other artists, in particular the Welsh artist Frank Brangwyn (1867–1956).
