    This is a typical skirt made by the Run Li group of the Li people who live on Hainan Island, China. The skirt is composed of four pieces of fabric joined together. The narrow striped section is the top of the skirt and is warp-faced with continuous supplementary warp decoration displaying geometric forms. The designs on the lower three bands include geometric shapes, stripes, and stylised figures, which may represent ancestors.
