Over the course of three weekends in this AGNSW Contemporary Project, Soda_Jerk will stage a series of live cinema works that are part multi-channel video installation, part film essay. Combining their signature sampling practice with an impulse towards errant pedagogy, the works are at once deadly serious and darkly humorous.

Soda_Jerk presents includes the premiere of Terror Nullius (2014), a new 2-channel video that constructs a rogue history of Australia from Ozploitation films and menacing Australian classics.

The artists will also stage The Carousel (2011), a 2-channel video lecture performance that approaches cinema as a burial crypt where we collectively commune with the dead.

Soda_Jerk is a two-person art collective from Sydney.
