Multiple paths
HSC year: 2011, ARTEXPRESS year: 2012
Expressive form: Drawing
During their life people will be faced with multiple paths which become entwined over time. These connections are symbolised by roots and branches, all connected to the birth of the tree, as all roots come to life as the seed of the tree grows. I used charcoal and sgraffito so that these paths appear simply to be black and white, yet when observed further the multiple layers create a complexity of entwined connections. No path in life is easy and there will be collisions along any pathway as it fights to break away from the core root in which it began.
