Artist's statement

My work started off as a tongue-in-cheek satirical statement addressing the kitsch commercialisation of the art world. The value of art has risen as artworks have become trade goods for collectors. Art has become a design process where the artwork’s meaning becomes insignificant, obscured under the layers of marketing. In this art world an artist’s work serves no purpose but to be used as a product to satisfy the needs of the customer.
