Collection Circle
Help build the Gallery’s collection
It is through the generosity of our members that we are able to help buy art for the Gallery’s permanent collection.
Despite being a public gallery, we receive no government funding for acquisitions and have not done so for two decades. The funds raised from members fees and events go towards purchasing artworks.
Join the Collection Circle
To supplement these funds, we’ve created the Collection Circle for members who wish to donate in addition to the annual membership fee. Each Collection Circle donation is tax deductible and specifically directed towards the acquisition of artworks for the Gallery.
With a contribution of $200 a year (as a lump sum or instalments), you can join the Collection Circle and play an important role in the Gallery’s growth. And, to thank you for your support, you will benefit from a range of incentives such as behind-the-scenes viewings, curators’ talks and acquisition previews not available to other members.
How the Collection Circle has helped
In recent years, Collection Circle contributors have donated to or bought outright five major works: Paul Cézanne’s Bords de la Marne, Jeffrey Smart’s Matisse at Ashford, Tim Storrier’s Boys own modern, Arthur Boyd’s Nude carrying a ram, a Nepalese sculpture of Padmapani or The Luminous Lord of Infinite Compassion and Emanuel Phillips Fox’s Nasturtiums.
How you can help now
Currently, we are raising funds to help the Gallery’s purchase of Ed Ruscha’s Gospel – a major acquisition to celebrate the Gallery’s new director. Find out more
