This portrait by James Quinn of artist and critic George Bell (1878–1966) is now in the collection of the Art Gallery of NSW. It was one of six works shortlisted by the trustees for the 1939 Archibald Prize. The Gallery acquired both of Quinn’s works in that exhibition.
