Benjamin Fesselet Feed the starving artist
acrylic on board on canvas
It is difficult to be an artist. Art comes with a cost. Initially, time is needed to develop ideas and for creativity to take hold. This is time spent without financial reward. Additionally, ready money is needed to buy materials, to experiment and then finally bring an idea to fruition. Such endeavours often require sacrifices in areas deemed essential.
I present my work in recognition of the literal and metaphorical hunger that underlines my practice. The raw energy of the work suggests both the torturous and wildly gratifying nature of creation. I invite you to feed the starving artist.
