Tony Twigg: Encountering the Object is a book that takes readers on a fabulous visual journey, joining the dots between objects found in our everyday and how they weave their way into the timber constructions of artist Tony Twigg. It opens a door to our neighbouring region, where Twigg has worked for more than a decade traveling, living and exhibiting in The Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
A 94-page full-colour book, it is completed by three feature essays: contemporary Malaysian artist Sharon Chin contextualizing Twigg’s work in an Asian context; Design editor Paul McGillick discussing the development of Twigg’s work and his Asian engagement; and Southeast Asian art writer Gina Fairley in conversation with the artist.
This publication was assisted by grant from the Australia-Malaysia Institute and is independently published by SLOT.
