Australian Impressionism is the term chosen to describe the Australian manifestation of the International Impressionism movement. Australian Impressionism focuses on the first years of the movement, 1883 to 1897 and follows five artists: Charles Conder, Frederick McCubbin, Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton, and Jane Sutherland, in a linear and chronological order to provide the reader with a focused overview of the movement.
