This, was the first exhibition on the theme of Orientalism to be held in Australia and New Zealand. It looks at colours, shadows, contrasts, mysteries and unfamiliar faces and of the artists' views of the European encounter with the Islamic worlds of North Africa and the Middle East. Artists included are Delacroix, Gerome, Klee, Matisse, Ingres, Poynter, Alma-Tadama, and many more.
