Add to cart +This publicaton and accompanying exhibition are an initiative of Hendrik Kolenberg, Senior Curator of Australian Prints, Drawings and Watercolours at the Gallery. Dutch-born, he has remained seriously interested in the land of his birth, its art and literature since arriving here in 1952. The richly varied selection of works of art he has chosen will be unfamiliar to most of our visitors, but clearly not for long. He has been mindful of the need to highlight connections between Dutch and Australian art and for this reason has included the work of the Dutch born and trained Australian artist, Jan Riske, whose work, like that of other artists of Dutch birth or heritage in Australia, has already contributed greatly to the enrichment of Australian culture since the early1950's.
