Visit with children

The Gallery has much to offer visitors of all ages – and most of it is free.

Entry to see the Gallery’s permanent galleries and most temporary exhibitions is free. For paying exhibitions, children under five are admitted free and there are family discounts to our ticketed major exhibitions – the exhibition pages in What’s on give details.

There’s an extensive range of free activities for children from tots to teenagers, including performances on the second and last Sunday of the month at 2.30pm and in the school holidays.

We’ve created free children’s trails and a kids audio tour to help young visitors engage with the art and ideas in our exhibitions. You can download these or pick up a copies at the Gallery’s information desk.

We also offer workshops during the holidays for various ages and monthly tours for tots – both extremely popular so book in advance. Charges apply.

You can find details of all these at Gallery Kids, along with tips for introducing kids to art.
