Belinda Bortolin Arpeggio

Work by Belinda Bortolin

What would a world be without music? As a pianist, I have always believed that a musician’s fingers have a spontaneous mind of their own. I have used the chiaroscuro effect to reflect the light/dark contours of musical expression: the unfathomable ability that music has to touch not only the physical but also the sentimental and the spiritual senses, as with an arpeggio whose individual tones can shift one’s frame of mind. For some, the element of music proves more than a necessity in life – it becomes their remedy, oxygen… the quintessence of their soul.
