The global issues of aquatic pollution and over-fishing are becoming more urgent in today’s capitalist-driven society. Inspired by the January 2019 Murray–Darling Basin incidents of mass fish deaths which stem from the irresponsible actions of humanity, I developed a post-apocalyptic setting for my body of work. I use negative spacing to reveal a futuristic and monotonous outcome of embalmed skeletons, with the audience encouraged to metaphorically unveil the layers of maritime deterioration.
