Afghanistan: gallery of empires
Special lecture by Julian Droogan
Member, Lecture / symposium
Known in recent years as the ‘Graveyard of Empires’, Afghanistan has in fact flourished at the centre of many great cultures throughout its incredible and turbulent history. Rarely united, but often uniting those around it, the lands of Afghanistan have been pivot and crossroads for a host of religions, civilisations, art movements and, indeed, conquering armies.
Dr Julian Droogan takes a big picture look at the little known but surprising history of Afghanistan.
