Celebrity event: Luke Carroll in conversation
Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2014
Art After Hours, Celebrity talk
Indigenous actor Luke Carroll recently starred in the Sydney Festival and Queensland Theatre Company production of Black diggers, a play that drew on new research to uncover the contribution of Australia’s first World War Aboriginal diggers. To echo the NAIDOC Week 2014 theme of 'serving country’, Luke will speak with arts journalist Fenella Kernebone and reflect on this role and the broader importance of this production for Australia’s wartime legacy.
Luke will also talk to us about his notable career in Australian film and television as an Indigenous actor. Luke’s credits include Redfern now, Home and away, Going bush, The Alice, Playschool, Man from Snowy River and Australian rules, and he has been nominated twice for the AFI Award for best supporting actor.
