Live music: The Speakers
Performing with Tina Harrod
Art After Hours, Music
The Speakers was founded after each band member spent time doing numerous projects together and a natural bond was formed. They have developed a sound of their own, taking a leaf from the songbook of soul, with a sprinkling of jazz and blues.
The Speakers is David Symes on bass guitar, Evan Mannell on drums, Jak Housden on guitar and Stuart Hunter on keys. For Art After Hours, they’re joined by award-winning vocalist Tina Harrod. Together, they’ll play hits from Stax and Motown—a journey along the highway from Chicago to New Orleans and a whole lot more.
Tina Harrod, born in New Zealand with Fijian and Welsh heritage, is an award
winning Australian recording artist. Tina’s innovative music draws from the deep well of soul and jazz, yet in a totally contemporary style. Acknowledged as one of Australia’s finest vocalists, She has performed extensively in Australia and Europe.
