      Special event

In 2018 the Art Gallery of NSW developed and staged Faboriginal, an Aboriginal art game show hosted and co-created by actor, writer and comedian Steven Oliver, best known as part of the creative team behind Black comedy.

Faboriginal is now being made into a TV show for NITV, produced by Noble Savage Pictures.

Taking cues from the Gallery’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art collection, Faboriginal is a fun mix of trivia, celebrity, chat and laughs featuring comedians, actors, musicians and artists.

The hilarious and sexy Steven Oliver will be joined by two teams of courageous celebrity contestants battling it out to answer our tricky art questions. What is raark? Which mountain ranges appear most often in Albert Namatjira’s paintings? How do you make an eel trap?

If you would like to be in the audience for the TV recording of Faboriginal: the game show, you can choose from eight shows or come to all eight!

The recording will take place at the Art Gallery of NSW in the Yiribana Gallery on lower level 3. There will be limited general access to the Yiribana Gallery during these dates and no access during filming.
