Young British Artist Michael Landy on his art and practice

Please ensure javascript is enabled to watch video

Michael Landy is one of the Young British Artists (YBAs), a group of artists who achieved critical fame for their shock tactics and use of everyday materials in the 1990s.

Landy is known especially for his performance and installation Break down 2001, in which he systematically destroyed all his personal possessions. His work examines what we value and what we discard, consumerism and waste, and human labour and its worth. In this talk, he discusses his practice and his works in the John Kaldor Family Collection.
