Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla’s ‘Chalk’

For one day only, giant pieces of chalk – 64 inches (about 163cm) long and 8 inches (about 20cm) in diameter – were placed in the forecourt of Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building, near the Town Hall, for passers-by to use as they wish.

This participatory public artwork by internationally renowned artist duo Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla was a rare opportunity for Sydney siders to make their mark.
