  • About

Linda Marrinon's practice merges cartoon-like style with references to classical painting and sculpture. Her works invariably depict people or animals in slightly absurd scenarios or with a gentle irony. Although Marrinon has worked with sculpture since the early 1990s, this has become a more dominant thread in her practice over the last decade, coinciding with a period of looking closely at 19th-century art. Her figure sculptures echo classical traditions but are deliberately modest and amusing interpretations of this weighty history.
