  • About

STRANG was the principal student of Legros and inherited the latter’s taste for grim subjects, though his oeuvre also consists of portraits, landscapes and pseudo-classical subjects. He made over 700 etchings (catalogued by his son David Strang) between 1880 and 1920. As well as intaglio prints, Strang produced woodcuts and contributed illustrations to the ‘Yellow Book’ and ‘The Dome’.
