About
One of the most important post war Australian sculptors and teachers, Dadswell studied with Julian Ashton 1923-25 and at ESTC under Rayner Hoff 1926-29. Commissioned by the National War Memorial Committee of Victoria to design and execute the inner frieze of Victoria’s Shrine of Remembrance 1929, he continued to work under Paul Montford until 1932. He taught sculpture at ESTC for four decades from 1937 and is credited with introducing modernist sculpture to Australia.
