Every man wears a head on his shoulder I & III makes implicit reference to corrupted politics and the incidents that Pacheco herself witnessed and experienced in a militarised Brazil. Though the identity and ethnicity of the figures in these works is indistinct, they bear witness to something violent and disturbing.
