  • About

Bolswert worked principally in Antwerp as an engraver in the tradition of the Rubens school. His elaborate technique recreated the exuberant spirit of Rubens's paintings as seen in this pastoral landscape. Storm clouds disperse to reveal a vast sweep of sunlit landscape. The rainbow is a symbol if God’s love for His creation.
