Max Miller studied in Sydney, Florence and London and has exhibited his work since 1970. He is also a distinguished master printer who has worked with many artists including Brett Whiteley, John Olsen and Lloyd Rees.
Miller has for many years been attracted to Asian art and philosophy, particularly Buddhism, which has informed his artistic sensibility. His principal subject is the Australian landscape; his closely observed drawings of flora and fauna inform his more abstract work. This etching was made by abutting five plates, the composition echoing the format of Japanese screens.
