  • About

    William Strutt worked in Australia between 1850 and 1862, and was the first Royal Academy trained artist to pursue a career in the colony. He made a number of major history paintings of Australian subjects after his return to England (eg. 'Black Thursday', 1864) as well as religious and genre works.
