About
Furlonger studied in Queensland and Sydney between 1973 and 78 and has lived and worked in Qld since then. He was awarded the second Moet & Chandon Fellowship in 1988-89, and has exhibited in Australia and abroad since the mid 1980s. He is best known as an expressive painter and draughtsman. This lithograph relates to a series of paintings and drawings on the theme of mother and child made by the artist in 1988, and was produced in collaboration with master printer Neil Leveon at the VPW (now Australian Print Workshop) in Melbourne, as part of a larger project of working with artists from the Ray Hughes Gallery in Sydney.
