  • About

The dish is decorated in 'rouge de fer' (iron red) on both the interior and the exterior with patternized floral motifs. There is a central roundel of a formal arrangement of five blossoms and foliage inside dish. On the exterior are six similar flowers, with another three pairs of blossoms in smaller scale scattered in between them. Double lines are drawn surrounding the decoration and at the mouth of the dish. The smooth porcelain body has fired to a pale orange where exposed at the foot rim. A mark with six characters written on the base reads, "Made in the Yongzheng period of the Great Qing dynasty".

Asian Art Deptartment, AGNSW, June 2001.
