About
The title for this print comes from a 1966 song by British band The Kinks. The song is a satire about a stylish young man who goes in search of the latest ‘swinging sixties’ fashions. Richard Hamilton created this etching in 1980, but his stylish young man is from a discarded photograph he found in Hamburg, Germany in 1969. The print is a combination of photographic images and hand-drawn elements skilfully printed using a variety of techniques: photogravure, etching, open-bite, lift-ground and step-bite aquatint.
