About
Margaret Preston is one of the most significant modernist Australian artists of the early 20th century. Her interest in Aboriginal art as a fundamental element of a national Australian art, and her appropriation of Indigenous motifs and palette within her own practice, are of particular relevance in relation to this colour stencil.
