Further information

Robetta was a goldsmith and engraver from Florence. His figure compositions reflect the spirit of the Florentine Renaissance painter Filippino Lippi and he was much influenced by Dürer’s technique of engraving, particularly the method of modelling with curved crossed lines. His engravings usually feature elements of Dürer’s early prints in their landscape backgrounds.
