    "During the war we were required to make certain records of the R.A.A.F. Station at Pt Cook. I made a special drawing and sketch of the pier at the time. A copy of this print was retained for the Australian War Memorial at Canberra.
    I had begun to use translucent and transparent paint at this stage. By adding certain particular oils and varnishes to the colours I could achieve this.
    This was one of the first prints to show transparencies and translucencies together".
