About
In this work, video of a shooting star has been slowed down to allow time for artist Mai Yamashita to voice her wishes while the star falls. Spoken in Japanese, her wishes include:
I wish to become a great artist.
I wish that an article about me will be in newspapers, when I die.
I wish not to worry about money.
I wish not to be sick anymore.
I wish to live conspicuous and long.
I wish to have no regrets after death.
I wish to be a bit prettier after I’m born again.
I wish to win the lottery.
I wish to be a better mixer.
I wish to be more positive.
I wish to soon hold my solo show.
I wish to be devoted to my parents even a little.
I wish to repay my debt to the Japan Scholarship Foundation.
I wish to produce my works more energetically.
I wish to be a bit cleverer.
I wish to live in a house with a bathroom.
I wish to be a good singer.
I wish to have witty conversations.
I wish to have a knack of winning.
I wish to be young forever.
I wish to die suddenly.
I wish to produce masterpieces. -
