About
Gilbert Bayes writes about his commission for 'The Offerings of War' and 'The Offerings of Peace', that he is 'very glad to hear the designs are liked' and he encloses photographs taken from the frieze of the Parthenon in Athens to show the type of horse intended but notes that he intends to make 'the horse in 'The Offerings of War' slightly more powerful'. He adds that he would like to allow two years for completion of the commission.
