About
Sidney Nolan’s father, Sidney Henry Nolan, joined the army in March of 1916 at the age of 22. He was discharged 4 months later as ‘medically unfit’ due to rheumatism.
This copy of a vintage photograph from the family photograph album was made by Sidney Nolan in 1967 and given to Storry Walton, who used it in the documentary he made for the ABC entitled 'This Dreaming Spinning Thing'. Alan Ashbolt worked with Walton on the documentary and George Johnston wrote the script.
