About
The drawings in this sketchbook were done when Margel Hinder was attending a Summer School organised by Bisttram Summer at Taos, New Mexico, in 1933. She travelled there with her husband Frank Hinder and her younger sister Jean. The landscape of New Mexico made a great impression on her and she later wrote that "I suddenly understood the whole world when I saw those mountains."
