'The Chinese exhibition', which was held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 25 March- 8 May 1977 included a selection of recent archaeological finds of the People's Republic of China covering 500,000 years from the fossilized skull of Peking Man to 14th century relics of the Yuan Dynasty. Exhibits included the bronze horses and the jade funeral suit of the Princess Tou Wan. The exhibition was organized by the Australian Art Exhibitions Corporation and the catalogue included a preface by Malcolm Fraser with an introduction by Andrew Grimwade. It also travelled to the National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
