  • About

The body is of the distinctive Böttger paste in use before c1725. The gilded chinoiserie decoration with engraved detailing is later and is of the type applied to Meissen blanks in the Augsburg workshop of Bartholomaüs Seuter. The motifs comprise Chinese figures conversing, smoking and preparing or consuming beverages. Under the spout is a diving crane. The significance of the mark is not known.
