About
This painting was made at a time when Cassab was conciously experimenting with abstraction in an attempt to extend her work in new directions. She was actively encouraged in this by a number of artists she admired, especially Paul Haefliger. However, she never strayed from the fundamental basis of her work in nature; for Cassab, abstraction always came from the real world.
